"We were interested in Morton's Ace Hardware because of the great business they had built and their culture of service that aligned with the values that we commit to as an organization," he said, adding that Sunshine Ace would continue searching for expansion opportunities throughout Florida. Sunshine Ace Hardware President Michael Wynn said the culture and commitment to community of Morton's Ace Hardware, established and operated since 1979 by the Waksler family, meshed with the Sunshine Ace Hardware brand and contributed to the decision to acquire the business. Morton's Ace Hardware is 12,500 square feet and employs 25 people, almost all of whom will remain with the company. The Port Charlotte location marks the seventh store for Sunshine Ace Hardware, which also operates locations in Naples, Marco Island, San Carlos Park, Bonita Springs, Golden Gate and Fort Myers. Sunshine Ace Hardware has officially acquired Morton's Ace Hardware of Port Charlotte, extending the business's operations into Charlotte County.
